What is a square root of a number ?

( Kisi number ka square root kya hota hai ? )

Friends , square root ko hindi me vargmul ( वर्गमूल ) kahate hai.

Defination of square root-:

" kisi diye huye number ka square root , aisa number hota hai jo khud se multiply karne par diya huaa number hi aata hai."

Square root ko " √ " se denote karte hai.

Aayiye example se samjhate hai -:

Kisi diye huye number " x " ka square root -:

Diye huye number x ka square root y aisa number hota hai, Jiska khud se multiply  (i.e. y×y ) karne par result ( y×y = x ) x mile.

Aur isse    √x =±y  se denote karte hai.
Yaha sign ± ka matalab hai ki diye huye number ka square root negative and positive dono number ho sakta hai. Jaise uppar k example me x ka square root 

√x = - y aur +y dono ho sakta hai , kyuki (-y)×(-y) = x
              y×y = x
 dono ho sakta hai.

Aayiye ab kuch number wale example se samjhte hai.

For example-:

• square root of 1

Hume 1 ka square root maalum karna hai to hum jaante hai ki,
 1×1 = 1 and (-1)×(-1) = 1

Isliye 1 ka square root = ±1 aur isse √1 = ±1 se denote karte hai.

• square root of 4

Hum jaante hai ki ,
               2×2 = (-2)×(-2) = 4 
Isliye          √4 = ± 2

• square root of  9 

3×3 = (-3)×(-3) = 9
        √9 =±3

Similarly ,

• √ 16 = ??
 4×4 = (-4)×(-4) = 16
    √16 =  ±4

• √25 = ??
 5×5 =(-5)×(-5) = 25
     √25 = ±5



• √36 = ??
 6×6 = (-6)×(-6) = 36
 √36 = ±6

• √49 =??
7×7 = (-7)×(-7) = 49
 isliye √49 = ± 7

• √64 = ??
8×8 = (-8)×(-8) = 64
√64 = ±8

• √81 = ??
9×9 = (-9)×(-9) = 81
 √81 = ±9

•√100 =??
10×10 = (-10)×(-10) = 100
Isliye √100 ±10
